Life of a TV/Film Socialite

by admin on Aug.14, 2006, under Personal

Life has been pretty full on since returning from my ski trip (which seems like months ago now). Upon returning from Melbourne in mid July I still had an additional three weeks of the house to myself before my house mate Katy returned from her EuroTrip (which was last Saturday) — good to see you home safely Katy :P .

During this time I have been very busy trying to be something of a Socialite catching up with friends, some of whom I haven’t seen in years and years - or since the good old high school days. Never the less, its a great excuse for eating out at some nice restaurant.

I have also been furthering my passion/hobby of photography and have been preparing a small collection of the best-of-the-best for some form of online showcase in preparation of taking my photography interest to the next level. And to this extent, and to meet other people with photographic interest I have signed up and created an online flickr account. And again, furthering this interest in Photography (which isn’t new - for those that know me well) I will eventually purchase a nice big-ass DSLR… probably either a Canon 30D or a Nikon :P.

Naturally, along with everyone else in the world, a certain portion of my life is consumed by work. In my case it happens to be a great proportion of my life; luckily for me though, I don’t think of work as consuming, I rather quite enjoy the challenge it brings — and the rewards are far greater.

I am also endeavoring to do more traveling this year and in the coming years. So far I have been to Sydney and Melbourne for holidays and I am looking at hopefully making trips to Singapore and Las Vegas before the end of the year. In addition it looks like there may just be some business trips to Sydney, Japan and Las Vegas between now and June 2007. I like the sound of that :)

In other news, I had to run my 1989 Mitsubishi Magna back over the pits to become re-instated into the elite “Aus Government Vehicle Registration” Club since I allowed (unknowingly of course) my vehicle rego to laps for 3 months (since May). It cost me $150.00 for the fine and pit inspection — I was expecting it to be a lot worse. Funnily enough, I had thought that the police officers that pulled me over back in June for talking on my mobile phone whilst driving would have picked up on the fact that my vehicle was unregistered… perhaps the undercover cop cars don’t have the equipment required to do an on the spot vehicle check? I took it over the pits the following day at 7.30AM and by 8.00PM was paying for my new rego… no probs :)

The weekend just gone was host to many live events including my Cousin Kellie’s wedding. It was a fantastic ceremony - unorthodox in many ways… that said, the “Best Man” was incredibly HOT!! The red hair and orange dress looked absolutely stunning - and what a smile…yes, the Best Man was a chick :P — just one of the many things that was different about this wedding… It definitely makes for a very memorable occasion..

Whilst on the topic of weddings, I have been given the greatest honor of being Best Man for my friend Andrew & Elise’s wedding (May2007). I have never been Best Man before and am very excited about it. I was hoping to get some tips off the Best Man at Kellie’s wedding… but I simply could not get past her (the Best Man) beautiful smile* :P

Over the last week films I have seen include:

Confessions of a Sociopathic Social Climber (2005)
- Jennifer Love Hewitt (as pictured above)

This was a pretty typical ‘nasty girl meets boy and needs to change her ways’ film. Definitely been made well worth while thanks to Jen Loves amazing cleavage :)

V for Vendetta (2006) - Hugo Weaving/Natalie Portman

Is currently my all time favourite film for 2006. Although set in the future (2015), the idea of this film runs very parallel to what you would expect should Hitler and his Nazi party of won WII and ruled Europe. The character V, performed by Hugo Weaving is a very complex and intriguing character.

Derailed (2005) - Clive Owen/Jennifer Aniston

A fantastic thriller which will pull you along right to the very end. Without doubt one of Clive Owen’s best since Closer.

100 Girls (2000) - Jaime Pressly

A cross between a ‘who dun it’ film and the American Pie series. A college boy seeks out the chick he scores with during a blackout inside a lift…. who was it??

Malena (2000) - Monica Bellucci (english subtitles)

Being a huge fan of Monica Bellucci, any film of hers is a must and this is no exception. Although available only in italian, with english subtitles, this story follows the life of a boy coming of age and the sexual escapades of a very beautiful italian woman, Malena.

As far as TV shows go, I have stayed loyal to the new seasons of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis and the NBC series Las Vegas.
